Dental Implants

Missing teeth can cause trouble eating and speaking clearly, and have negative consequences on your overall oral health. To help our patients protect the integrity of their smile, Manhattan Dental Practices offers dental implants and dental implant crowns. Dental implants are surgically placed in the jaw and can secure a crown, denture, or bridge. By replacing the entire tooth from root to crown, you can enjoy incredibly durable and natural-looking results. Our board-certified oral surgeon uses advanced technology and techniques to safely place and restore dental implants.

Why Implants?
Dental implants are surgically placed in the jaw and can secure the dental implant crown, denture, or bridge. By replacing the entire tooth from root to crown, you can enjoy incredibly durable and natural-looking results.

-
Improved Bone Health
By replacing tooth roots, dental implant posts stimulate the jaw bone just like natural teeth. This halts the bone recession that results from tooth loss. This also benefits the surrounding teeth as the supportive tissues will remain in place, providing stability and preventing them from becoming loose.

-
Fully Restored Function
Attaching your restoration to a dental implant allows it to function as reliably as your natural tooth. This allows you to chew and speak without worrying about your restoration slipping out of place.

-
Natural-Looking Results
The full functionality of your implant paired with the realistic restorations we provide offer completely natural-looking results so you can feel confident in your smile.
What is involved in Implants?

-
The dental implant process consists largely of two parts: inserting the posts and securing the restoration. Some candidates may require preparatory procedures at our office, such as bone grafting or a sinus lift. These patients will need to fully heal before receiving their implants.
-
The first portion of your treatment will involve surgically placing the dental implant into the jaw.
-
Once the implant post has fused with the jaw bone, about four to six months later, you will return to our office to receive your final restoration. Your denture, crown, or bridge will be attached to the dental implants with abutments, or connector pieces, and remain firmly fixed in place.
